We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth flow of goods within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This involves loading and unloading trucks, as well as transporting materials between different areas of the facility. A key aspect of this position is ensuring accurate inventory management through diligent scanning and record-keeping. The role demands physical stamina and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strict adherence to all safety protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Your role will directly contribute to the efficiency and success of our supply chain operations. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport goods to and from storage areas.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklift equipment.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely order fulfillment and shipments.
- Identify and report any hazards or safety concerns immediately.
- Commitment to safe Lifting practices throughout the shift.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong commitment to safety and PPE usage.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
