About
We are seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk for our Grand Rapids, Michigan operations. This role is fundamental to our inventory management and supply chain integrity. You will be responsible for the accurate reception, inspection, and documentation of all incoming goods. This involves verifying shipments against purchase orders, identifying any discrepancies or damages, and ensuring items are properly logged into our system and stored. A strong emphasis on Safety and organizational skills is required. The Receiving Clerk ensures our Logistics pipeline starts with accurate data.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming freight.
- Compare received goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect items for damage, shortages, or defects.
- Document all receiving activities accurately in the inventory system.
- Tag received items and move them to appropriate storage locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as necessary.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure the proper use and availability of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory control tasks and audits as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse clerk position is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of basic inventory control principles.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety practices.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to consistently use required PPE.
- Familiarity with basic computer systems for data entry.
