We are seeking a motivated and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment. This role is crucial to our daily operations and requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. You will be part of a fast-paced logistics operation, contributing directly to the smooth flow of goods. This position involves significant Lifting and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack materials.
- Inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklifts before and after use.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE at all times.
- Pick and stage orders for shipment accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper placement of inventory.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Respond to other duties as assigned by warehouse management, contributing to overall logistics success.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of Safety protocols and procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible hours if required.
