About
We are looking for a reliable and physically capable Material Handler to join our San Francisco, California team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse and distribution center. Your duties will include receiving, unloading, stocking, and staging various types of goods. You will operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, to transport items throughout the facility. A key aspect of this job is ensuring that materials are handled correctly to prevent damage and maintain organization within our logistics operations. This position requires a strong commitment to workplace safety; you will be trained on proper lifting techniques, safe equipment operation, and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ability to perform consistent Lifting, carrying, and moving of items, often weighing up to 50 lbs, is essential. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse using pallet jacks and other equipment.
- Stock and organize materials in their designated locations.
- Assist in receiving and checking incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Prepare materials for outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions to a supervisor immediately.
- Perform regular checks of equipment before use.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Adhere to established logistics procedures for material handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting, pushing, and pulling of heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and other manual material handling equipment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Team-oriented and able to work cooperatively with others.
- Reliable and punctual.
