About
We are looking for a diligent Material Handler to join our bustling logistics warehouse in Richmond, Virginia. This position is essential for the smooth operation of our facility, involving the physical movement and organization of materials. The Material Handler will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving stock within the warehouse, and ensuring materials are ready for the next stage of the logistics process. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy in all material handling tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials within the warehouse using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated storage areas, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Assist with receiving and put-away processes, verifying counts and locations.
- Stage materials for shipping, ensuring correct orders and quantities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, keeping aisles and work areas clear.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently (if trained and certified).
- Assist with inventory checks and stocktaking as required.
- Support overall logistics operations by ensuring timely and accurate movement of goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a warehouse environment is advantageous.
- Ability to perform demanding physical tasks, including frequent lifting and carrying of materials.
- Capability of lifting up to 50 pounds consistently.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Experience operating pallet jacks and other manual handling equipment.
- Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn and perform various logistics-related tasks.
