About
Our Atlanta, Georgia facility is looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to manage the incoming flow of goods. This role is vital for ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately documented, inspected, and put away efficiently. The Receiving Clerk plays a key part in inventory accuracy and the overall supply chain logistics of our operation. You will be the first point of contact for many inbound shipments, so accuracy and diligence are paramount. This position requires excellent organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly receiving area. Strong communication skills are also beneficial as you will interact with drivers and internal departments.
Responsibilities:
- Accept, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments.
- Verify incoming goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Document any discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Route received items to the appropriate departments or storage locations.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving dock and surrounding areas.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE when required.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal staff regarding receiving issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support warehouse operations and logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role.
- Proficiency in using computers and scanning equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Understanding of warehouse safety standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
