Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. This crucial role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will manage inventory levels, conduct regular audits, investigate discrepancies, and implement procedures to ensure optimal stock management. Your efforts will directly impact operational efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction by ensuring product availability and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels across the warehouse.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Track the movement of goods and update inventory records accurately.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners effectively.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments (receiving, shipping, operations) to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all inventory items.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
  • Assist in managing returns and damaged goods inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with WMS software and inventory management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs when required.
  • Understanding of warehouse logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
