Are you a skilled Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Durham, North Carolina? We are seeking experienced operators to join our fast-paced logistics team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout our warehouse, ensuring that inventory is organized and accessible. This role is vital to our daily operations, supporting receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping processes. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, and all operators must demonstrate proficiency in forklift operation and adherence to safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE. Your expertise will directly contribute to the smooth functioning of our supply chain and the timely delivery of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric, etc.) safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Transport goods from receiving areas to storage locations and from storage to shipping docks.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all safety rules and regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear aisles and exits.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse associates and supervisors to meet operational goals.
- Follow all logistics procedures for material handling and storage.
- Operate other warehouse equipment as needed, following safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics procedures.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of forklift safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
