About
Our Washington, D.C. branch is looking for a skilled Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This role is instrumental in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory systems, ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of inventory management principles and best practices. You will be responsible for optimizing inventory levels, minimizing stockouts, and reducing carrying costs.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of inventory management, including stock levels, storage, and organization.
- Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Implement and refine inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Analyze inventory data to forecast needs, identify trends, and report on key metrics.
- Ensure data integrity within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to manage the flow of goods.
- Maintain a safe and organized inventory storage area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize inventory management.
- Ensure team members are trained on and utilize appropriate PPE during all inventory-related tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Significant experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or logistics.
- Proficiency in WMS and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
- Thorough understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and the critical role of PPE.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
