• Maintain surveillance over designated areas along the border, utilizing advanced technology such as infrared scopes during night operations.
• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws by inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing smugglers of aliens at or near the borders by working with other law enforcement agencies.
