Job Description: Duration: 3 months contract (with possible extension) Responsibilities: Candidates for this position will be responsible for the design, engineering and installation of structured cabling systems based on industry and standards. They will work with Corporate Real Estate, Network Engineering, outside architecture and engineering firms, cabling contractors and electrical contractors in a design-build construction environment. This person will help define and implement cabling standards, prepare technical specifications and bid documents, identify and select qualified vendors and contractors and will provide technical support and project management from project start to finish. They will also be responsible for day-to-day management and execution of non-project physical layer activity at sites. The candidate must be able to manage multiple projects and activities at the same time and must be able to read and understand technical drawings, floor plans and network diagrams. They must be able to work independently, interact with a variety people and levels within the company, travel to project sites as needed and identify risks and solve problems. Structured cabling systems are based on the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Electronics Industry Association/Telecommunications Industry Association (EIA/TIA) standards. Company has also standardized on the use of the Siemon Cabling System and all contractors must be Siemon Certified Installers. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have at minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience with design and installation of structured cabling systems using the following cable types and supporting the following platforms and standards: ANSI/EIA/TIA 568 – Telecommunications Cabling ANSI/EIA/TIA 569 – Pathways and Spaces NEC – National Electric Code IEEE 802.3 – Ethernet IEEE 802.11 - WiFi Cat 6 Copper Cable Cat 6A Copper Cable Cat 5e Copper Cable Multimode Fiber Optic Cable Single Mode Fiber Optic cable RG6 Coax Cable RG11 Coax Cable Local Area Networking (LAN) - Wired Local Area Networking (WLAN) – Wireless Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) AV/CATV/Video Analog Voice – POTS/Fax About US Tech Solutions: US Tech Solutions is a global staff augmentation firm providing a wide range of talent on-demand and total workforce solutions.
