As our Nursery Chef, you will:
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to hygiene standards and completing the Kitchen Hygiene Checklist monthly.
- Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in both the nursery and kitchen.
- Prepare and cook age-appropriate meals for children, minimizing food wastage.
- Communicate dietary requirements clearly to the team and ensure they are met.
- Collaborate with nursery staff and parents to promote healthy eating habits.
- Manage food orders within budgetary constraints.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A solid understanding of managing dietary requirements, especially food allergies (essential).
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations (essential).
- Experience working within a catering budget while maintaining food service standards (essential).
- Relevant cooking experience in domestic or commercial settings (essential).
- Fluency in written and spoken English at GCSE grade C (or equivalent) (essential).
- A passion for cooking for young children (desirable).
