About
We are a B2B SaaS company seeking an experienced Technical Writer to create a structured, role-based user guide for our clinician mobile application.
This fixed-price pilot project focuses specifically on documenting the workflows used by facility staff members within our mobile app.
We are looking for someone who can translate real product workflows into clear, task-based documentation that frontline users can easily follow.
If this pilot is successful, there may be additional documentation projects.
Project Scope
You will create a comprehensive, task-based user guide for clinicians using our mobile application.
The guide should be organized around user tasks and real-world workflows rather than feature-by-feature descriptions.
Expected Workflow Sections
Final scope will be confirmed during kickoff. Anticipated workflows include:
Logging in and account setup
Viewing schedule
Picking up open shifts
Requesting to be waitlisted
Calling off from a scheduled shift
Requesting PTO
Post-shift Feedback
Managing notifications
Messaging
Profile management
Common errors and troubleshooting
You will collaborate with internal SMEs to confirm flows and edge cases.
Deliverables
Milestone 1 – Discovery & Outline
Review of mobile app
2–3 SME interviews
Proposed structure and workflow breakdown for approval
Milestone 2 – Draft Guide
Clear, step-by-step instructions
Task-based organization
Annotated screenshots where helpful
Consistent terminology
Milestone 3 – Final Version
Incorporated feedback
Polished formatting
Delivered in Google Docs (or agreed format)
What We're Looking For
Required
3+ years writing SaaS software documentation
Experience creating user guides for web or mobile applications
Ability to translate complex workflows into simple, structured guidance
Experience collaborating with Product or Engineering teams
Excellent written English
Preferred
Experience documenting mobile applications
Experience creating role-based documentation
Ability to create simple annotated visuals
Experience in healthcare or scheduling platforms is a plus
Project Details
Fixed-price engagement with milestone payments
Please include your proposed fee and estimated hours
Please include 2–3 examples of SaaS product documentation you have written
Briefly describe your process for learning a new product
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months. with 30 hours per week.
