About

CloudFirst is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Project Coordinator to oversee and drive keyinfrastructure and cloud initiatives across our client portfolio. This is a remote, part-time contract role(approximately 20 hours per week), with the potential to expand to a full-time workload based on performance,delivery outcomes, and project demand.
The ideal candidate has strong experience managing infrastructure, cloud, and security-focused projects,ensuring on-time delivery, budget control, and effective coordination across distributed engineering teams,vendors, and leadership stakeholders.
This role reports to Executive Management / Service Leadership and plays a critical role in ensuring deliverypredictability, financial transparency, and cross-team alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
Lead and coordinate end-to-end infrastructure and cloud projects from initiation through completion. Develop and maintain detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, dependencies, and resource allocation. Facilitate remote project meetings, drive accountability, and ensure consistent progress across teams. Ensure to defined scope, quality standards, delivery timelines, and budget expectations.
Budget & Financial Oversight
Monitor and manage project budgets, including forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis. Provide regular financial and delivery updates to executive and service leadership. Utilize ConnectWise for time entry review, project tracking, and billing alignment. Use Microsoft Project to manage schedules, dependencies, milestones ,and delivery plans. Partner with service and engineering leadership to ensure margin awareness and accurate invoicing.
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
Serve as the primary coordination point between engineering teams, service desk, executive leadership, and external vendors. Prepare and deliver clear project status reports, timelines, risks, and action items. Proactively manage expectations, resolve issues, and escalate risks when necessary. Maintain strong working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
Risk Management & Documentation
Identify project risks, technical dependencies, and operational constraints early in the project lifecycle. Developmitigation and contingency plans for delivery risks such as client readiness, application compatibility, orinfrastructure limitations. Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, decision logs, and statusupdates. Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future delivery.
CloudFirst-Specific Role Enhancements (Optional)
Act as a delivery control point between Engineering, Service Desk, and Executive Management.
Support multiple concurrent client initiatives typical of a managed services (MSP) environment.
Account for compliance-driven delivery constraints including security, regulatory, and client-specific requirements.
Improve delivery predictability by identifying resource conflicts, dependencies, and risks early.
Complement the IT Engineering Manager by owning project planning, coordination, budget visibility, and executive reporting.
Qualifications Required
3–5+ years of project management experience in IT, infrastructure, cloud, or MSP environments.
Demonstrated success managing infrastructure or cloud-related projects.
Experience tracking schedules, dependencies, and milestones using Microsoft Project.
Experience coordinating time tracking and delivery workflows using ConnectWise or similar PSA tools.
Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment with flexible hours.
Preferred
10+ years of project management experience in IT or infrastructure environments.
Experience working within a managed services provider (MSP) or professional services organization.- Familiarity with Microsoft cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure), networking, security, or compliance-driven projects.
PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification.
