About
The YMCA Child Care division is looking for Camp Program Leaders to work in spring day camp programs in various locations. Working in a team environment, Camp Program Leaders provide safe, fun, engaging, interest-led spring camp programs for children ages 5yrs-12yrs.
Our Child Care Team is supportive, dynamic, and growing We are looking for individuals who are energetic, active, responsible, and caring. Flexible shifts are available during the week, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Assist with implementing program plans and leading daily activities in accordance with YMCA standards and program expectations, based on program theme and age of participants.
Foster healthy, meaningful relationships and provide a place to belong for children, families, and colleagues
Actively interacts with children ages 5-12 as a play partner
Ensure the safety of all members, participants, staff and property
Lead high quality program planning, incorporating the Y's values
Maintain safety and supervision in accordance with provincial licensing requirements and standards
Support implementation of play based educational programming, including interactive play, literacy, mathematics, science, building, drama, games, team building, daily physical activity, and sports
Participate in YMCA of Southern Interior BC community initiatives
We'd love to hear from people with:
Over 16 years of age for Recreational Camps
Over 19 years of age with your Responsible Adult (or 20 hours of professional development relating to children's health, nutrition, safety, development and/or guidance) for licensed camps
Valid class 4 operator's license (is an asset)
Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR level B or C
Experience working with children and youth with exceptionalities an asset
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Passion to help children achieve their full potential through purposeful programming and implementation
