The Executive Council Office is the centre of excellence for the Government of Yukon. We are leaders in the modernization of government standards and processes. We provide central strategic advice to advance government priorities through policy development, communications, intergovernmental relations, Indigenous relations, major project management, youth initiatives, Indigenous and scientific knowledge and by supporting the Water Board and the Commissioner's Office. The department also provides direct support to the Premier and Cabinet.

This position is responsible for providing strategic corporate expertise, direction, decision-making, coordination, policy guidance, and training for the Yukon government in fulfilling its roles and responsibilities under the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act and across the broader regulatory regime.

Essential Qualifications
Degree in Environmental Studies or Physical or Natural Sciences
Considerable experience researching and analyzing environmental issues, impacts and/or mitigation and recommending appropriate courses of action.
Experience with the use and application of assessment legislation and policy, preferably the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act.
Experience facilitating planning and decision-making processes with stakeholders (e.g., governments, industry, boards, committees, the public, etc.)
Demonstrated experience consulting with First Nations or providing advice to support coordination between territorial, federal, or First Nations governments.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
