The Opportunity
We are seeking a high-caliber VP of Operations & Finance with a track to the C-Suite.
This role is designed for a finance-trained operator who wants enterprise-level responsibility and the opportunity to scale a premium/luxury, project-based business.
The successful candidate will oversee all departments that are execution oriented:
Production and manufacturing operations
Project management and field installation
Retail operational performance
Budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls
This leader will work directly with the CEO to strengthen execution, improve margins, and build a scalable operating infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Lead day-to-day production, project management, and installation operations
Improve scheduling, labour planning, and workflow efficiency
Reduce rework, install overruns, and bottlenecks
Increase on-time delivery and operational predictability
Strengthen coordination across estimating, engineering, procurement, production, and field teams
Financial & Performance Management
Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts
Build KPI dashboards that link operational drivers to financial outcomes
Improve job costing discipline and WIP visibility
Conduct variance analysis and implement corrective actions
Support pricing strategy, capital allocation, and ROI analysis
Strengthen procurement controls and cost management
Systems & Scalability
Establish weekly and monthly operating cadence
Standardize reporting and accountability frameworks
Improve ERP and operational visibility tools
Build scalable processes while preserving craftsmanship and culture
Leadership & Partnership
Lead and develop cross-functional teams
Create a culture of accountability and performance
Act as a trusted, data-driven thought partner to the CEO
Challenge assumptions constructively and protect the business with operational realism
What Success Looks Like
First 90 Days
Establish operating cadence and performance visibility
Diagnose operational and margin bottlenecks
Baseline key financial and operational metrics
6–12 Months
Improve job costing accuracy and forecast discipline
Increase labour productivity and throughput
Deliver measurable cost efficiencies
Improve gross margin and operational consistency
12–24 Months
Drive meaningful EBITDA improvement
Build leadership bench strength
Transition into full COO-level scope
Qualifications
Required
Strong financial foundation (CPA, MBA, CFA, FP&A, investment banking, or equivalent rigor)
Experience in production, construction, manufacturing, retail or complex operations
Demonstrated understanding of margin drivers, cost structure, and working capital
Experience leading teams and driving operational improvement
Strong analytical and financial modelling capability
Preferred
Experience in project-based manufacturing or custom fabrication
Exposure to job costing and WIP management
Experience improving ERP or operational reporting systems
Lean or continuous improvement experience
