Westport in Cambridge, Ont. designs and manufactures a comprehensive product mix of alternative fuel components for applications in the light and heavy-duty vehicle and industrial segments globally. This product mix includes Hydrogen (H2) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) components such as pressure regulators, tank valves, PRD's, PRV's, shutoff valves and integrated systems for a wide range of applications, including Fuel Cell vehicles.ย 
We are looking for a dynamic and detailed individual to play a key role in our supply chain department. ย  The Shipper & Receiver will be responsible for the flow of materials and parts from our warehouses to our production line. This role may be required to work occasional Saturdays.
Position Responsibilities

  • Shipping and receiving goods to and from our warehouses, counting, weighing and recording the number of units as well as their place of origin and destination.
  • Understanding the production schedule and related materials and ensuring that all materials are tracked and delivered accurately to appropriate locations
  • Complete work orders by picking inventory from stock to fulfill orders using a bar code system.
  • Ensuring that all materials are received through appropriate departments and all movement is recorded in the JDE system
  • Weekly cycle counts and verification of orders and parts, comparing shipping information to actual inventories
  • Maintenance of JDE system and all records, manual and electronic
  • Prioritization of jobs and available materials to production line and appropriate departments and our locations
  • Compiling and maintenance of manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials
  • All administrative paperwork dealing with manifests, bills of lading and entering of all information into our MRP system
  • Assisting the Buyer/Scheduler with daily operational and transactional activities
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work areaย 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Position Requirements

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing company
    • Must have experience shipping items with carriers such as DHL, UPS and FedEx
    • Must have experience creating Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS) documents for shipments
    • Must have experience creating commercial invoices, packing slips and other documentation required for shipping
    • Experience with ERP systems, preferably JDE, and how they interact with the shipping & receiving process is preferred
    • Excellent organizational and communications skills.
