Sureway Construction is one of Alberta's largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.
Job Type Full Time, Seasonal
Schedule 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Requirements
Personal Reliable Vehicle
CSA approved steel toed boots with 6" ankle support
Clean Driver's Abstract, Valid Driver's License
Pre-employment
Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
Foreman - EW & Water and Sewer Responsibilities
Allocate general and daily responsibilities.
Ensure manpower and resources are adequate.
Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
Oversee, supervise and manage crew, including equipment operators and labourers
Drive quality, efficiency and productivity of work crews and ensure the crew has all required tools for their work, including PPE and emergency response measures.
Assess and confirm, through documentation, crew competency.
Identify equipment and labor resource requirements for task and their utilization.
Adhere to project and company environmental considerations.
Complete daily activity reports/daily logs.
Work with project management to schedule and coordinate work tasks.
Coordinate with other Foremen of subcontractors as required on the jobsite.
Coordinate with shallow utility locaters when on the jobsite and ensure the crew clearly understands where all buried utilities are.
Submit progress reports to ensure that the project is on track with deadlines that have been set out in the contract. Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics. Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
Participate as a vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.
Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
Take corrective action to mitigate immediate hazards.
Conduct incident investigations and prepare associated support documentation immediately.
Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Foreman - EW & Water and Sewer Qualifications
Minimum five (5) years' experience as an UG Foreman, Civil or Earthworks Foreman - installations, subdivision servicing, roadway construction and urban renewal projects.
In depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OHS guidelines.
Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
Excellent organizational and leadership with the ability to communicate and report effectively.
Must have extensive knowledge of "Urban" Subdivision grading or Industrial.
Recognizes and understands the safe operation of heavy equipment and material handling.
Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
Must be a team player.
Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology degree/diploma considered an asset.
The following training courses would be considered an asset Leadership for Safety Excellence, Prime Contractor, CSTS-09, Ground Disturbance Level 2, H2S Awareness and WHMIS
