Role SummaryJoin our Mapping and Charging Quality Assurance (QA) team, where you will assume a pivotal role in the testing and quality assurance of our mapping software. Utilizing automation, manual testing, or semi-automated methods, you will contribute to the verification of software against established standards and the validation of its functionality.
In addition to testing, you may be required to contribute to the development and enhancement of automated tools, internal tools, and infrastructure to support scalability. As a team member, your responsibilities will extend beyond the validation of mapping and charging applications, encompassing the initiation of improvements, the identification of issues, collaboration across teams, and the meticulous testing and verification of bug fixes until resolution.

Responsibilities- Leading a small team to meet project delivery with good quality on schedule. Architecting tools and automation for testing.
- Testing vehicle mapping and charging applications on Android based automotive devices
- Ability to understand and debug complex systems.
- Enjoying driving and identifying gaps on the map, navigation and charging.
- Creating and continuing improving test plans to test release builds and coordinating with development engineers to release the builds on schedule to the market
- Performing cloud testing and ensuring seamless interaction with the automotive apps
- Designing and developing internal tools to test vehicle firmware, cloud and mobile app, such as Appium based automation frameworks, API Testing Framework, vehicle simulator, software to control hardware, and IOT devices
- Architecting and developing DevOps pipelines using various tools: AWS, Jenkins, Gitlab, Docker and more
- Collaborating with the product and the development teams to create test plans and test cases for app features. Ensuring quality and performance of application to specifications
- Identifying potential problems and working with developers to resolve application bottlenecks. Supporting failure analysis and root cause analysis for test and integration issues
- Maintaining electronic parts and equipment on test benches and test vehicles
- Growing your skills with continual learning, workshops, conferences, and talks
- This position requires hands-on physical interaction with the hardware and the Rivian and VW vehicles in the PA or Vancouver office
- Bachelor's or Master degree in Computer Science or Software/Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ year hands-on experience on software development or test cycle.
- 5+ year hands-on experience on software test cycle including test strategies, test plans and test cases from low level to high level software. Familiar with the test pyramid.
- Familiar with Linux systems and able to write shell, bash scripts. Good at writing automation scripts and using Python to parsing data.
- Familiarity with code versioning tools including Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket and others. Use Git bash
- Experience with the best-in-class Software development practices and DevOps practices
- Experience with electronic parts with firmware, electrical equipment and other hardware
- Familiarity with Android Frameworks and platforms, MacOS, Linux and Windows. Be able to configure and manage these platforms
- Top-notch teamwork and communication skills. Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to collaboratively work with and influence cross-functional. Ability and willingness to share and pass on technical knowledge and information to team members and cross teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment
- Organized, willing the share and guide others to improve, proactive
- Passion to take software from development to a verified product
- Have a driver's license and good driver record.
Bonus:
- Experience developing automation tools, automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines: Selenium, Appium, API testing and more using various DevOps tools
- Automotive, CAN, Android logs, UDS, DTC and Ethernet experience
- Familiarity with various APIs, DB, IOT and related technologies
- Excellent coding skills and understand and practice design principles
- Have good understanding of infotainment system, navigation system
Salary range / Hourly Rate for Vancouver applicants: $137,300 - $181,890 CAD.
The posted salary represents the lowest and highest ranges RV Tech reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position. Any posted salary range pertains only to the estimated starting pay for the role. Actual starting pay is based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, skillset, qualifications, specific competencies, relevant education, and location.

Total compensation packages for this position include base salary, eligibility for an annual performance bonus, and eligibility for equity.
