The Delta St. John's Hotel is a 403 room fast paced, high volume conference hotel. We strive to foster a strong service culture and team environment so that the needs of our guests and associates are met in equal measure.
We are seeking a qualified Night Auditor. This is full time permanent position. This position involves overnights & weekends at this time and preference will be given to candidates with previous experience.
A Valid Open Work permit is required.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Balancing of the day's business for all areas of the hotel accurately and timely;
- End of day procedures for: OPERA, Symphony, World Cinema, New Edge Communications, MARSHA interface.
- Data entry in Westmont Electronic Reporting
- Handling of late arrivals and early departures;
- Production and distribution of daily reports in a timely manner required;
- Ensuring all guest room rates are correct and balanced;
- Ensuring all Food & Beverage revenues are balanced and posted
- Guest Service Agent responsibilities, as required;
- Daily Cash Deposits
- VLT's closing procedures
- Full knowledge and understanding of emergency procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
- Post secondary education in Accounting with working knowledge of computerized systems; an asset;
- Knowledge of Micros system an asset and balancing of end of day F & B procedures required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and entire Suite package required;
- Experience in OPERA Front Office an asset
- One year's experience in Hotel Industry in Front Desk area, required;
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills;
- Must be a responsible, organized individual who can work with minimum supervision and display confidence in dealing with stressful situations;
- Must be honest, reliable and dependable;
- Must demonstrate behavior consistent with core values;
- Must be a team orientated individual with good interactive skills.
- Part of the Emergency Responders for the Hotel.
Mental Effort
- Mental and visual concentration during computer work daily, for accuracy in data entry and editing.
- Mental effort required in multi-tasking and handling interruptions that require refocusing.
- Listening and mental attentiveness in fulfilling guests requirements.
- Periods of mental and visual concentration required for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing reconciliations and reports.
Physical Effort
- Performs computer work daily.
Working Conditions
- Infrequent handling of queries and calls from guests, and property staff.
- Works a night, with minimum supervision and with co-workers.
Type of Supervision Required
Reports to the hotel Front Office Manager , Duty Manager or Area General Manager. Works under general instructions to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
