JOB SUMMARY
As a Plumber at Grouse Mountain, you'll be responsible for the inspection, maintenance and repair of essential systems across the property including water treatment, sewer systems, plumbing, buildings, fire equipment and restaurant facilities. This position blends technical expertise with a unique hands-on environment, and is an opportunity to apply your full range of skills in a setting where no two days – or views – are the same.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Inspections, repairs, installations, modifications, rebuilds, construction and maintenance of all infrastructures including Water Treatment Plant, Sewer and Plumbing systems, all buildings and all restaurant equipment
- Involvement with the construction and renovation of all structures from ground excavation to finishing work
- Maintaining the fire system including all buildings and portable equipment
- All other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports directly to the Manager, Facilities Maintenance with no direct supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
- Completion of Journeyman certificate in plumbing or carpentry preferred
- Small Water System and Gas Fitting certificates an asset
- Minimum of 3 years related experience required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and other specifications and technical information
- Ability to prepare layouts in accordance with building codes, and use hand and power tools as well as computerized machinery
- Able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Good communication skills, self-motivated, mature, dependable, able to work well with others in a team environment
- Willing and able to work shift work, including weekends
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Journeyman $ $45.65 depending on relevant experience, plus $4 shift premium evenings/weekends
Apprentices $ $37.29, plus $4 shift premium evenings/weekends
