Position Overview:ERIS has an immediate opening for Automation QA Analyst, reporting to QA Manager. This role requires a strong foundation in manual testing, with proven working experience in test automation to support regression and release testing. The ideal candidate is hands-on, quality-focused, and comfortable working closely with development and product teams in a fast-paced environment. The is a regular full-time hybrid position, working 35 hours per week in our Toronto office. This position is for an existing vacancy on the team.
Specific Responsibilities and Daily Tasks:- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts to improve test coverage and reduce manual regression efforts.
- Perform manual testing when required, including functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing.
- Analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to create effective test strategies and scenarios.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members throughout the SDLC.
- Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, logs, and supporting evidence.
- Create, execute, and maintain test cases across multiple environments.
- Support regression testing, release validation, and production readiness activities.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and release cycles.
- Apply risk-based testing methodologies aligned with the project's development approach.
- Continuously improve QA processes, test coverage, and automation practices.
- Manage competing priorities and adjust focus based on delivery timelines while maintaining quality.
- Assist the team in monitoring and resolving production issues when required and collaborate with the team to build knowledge and experience.
- Provide regular status updates on testing progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in manual and automation testing.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium).
- Experience testing complex business applications in large, integrated environments.
- Strong understanding of requirements-based testing.
- Proven ability to develop test plans and strategies and lead test execution for projects of moderate to high complexity.
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD tools such as TestNG, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience with API testing (e.g., Postman).
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguity.
