We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, and coordinating with carriers. This position is critical to our supply chain operations, guaranteeing that products are shipped correctly and on time. You will manage shipping documentation, label packages, and maintain organized shipping areas. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a good understanding of shipping procedures and logistics. Experience with shipping software is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments accurately.
- Verify shipping orders against products to ensure accuracy.
- Package items securely for transit, selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Apply shipping labels and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Maintain organized shipping and receiving areas.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as scales and printers.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving tasks as needed.
- Keep accurate records of shipments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related logistics role preferred.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures and carrier requirements.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and order management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and the use of PPE.
