As a Career Ladder Border Patrol Agent, you will have the opportunity to advance your career through grade level progression from GL-9 to GS-11 and then to GS-12.

• This role involves detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws. You will also be responsible for preventing the entry of aliens and smugglers at or near the borders, interpreting physical evidence such as tracks, marks, and other signs of illegal entry.

You will be eligible for promotion to the next higher grade level once you successfully complete 52 weeks in the lower grade level.
