About
We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk for our Des Moines, Iowa facility. This critical role ensures that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and documented. You will be responsible for verifying contents against purchase orders, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring that goods are properly logged into our inventory system. A strong understanding of warehouse logistics and a commitment to safety are essential for success. You will work closely with our logistics and warehouse teams to maintain smooth operations. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, and adherence to safe lifting practices is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming deliveries.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect goods for damage or defects.
- Document all received items accurately in the inventory system.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to management.
- Stage received goods for distribution to appropriate warehouse areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Follow all safety regulations and adhere to lifting guidelines.
- Utilize appropriate PPE throughout the shift.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a receiving clerk or in a warehouse environment.
- Proficiency with inventory management software.
- Strong data entry and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
