Seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. Responsibilities:
- Generate and verify shipping labels and documentation for all outgoing orders.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal teams and customers as needed.
- Inspect outgoing packages for accuracy and damage before dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping station and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist in receiving and processing incoming shipments when necessary.
- Keep accurate records of all shipping activities and inventory movements.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and requirements, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Communicate effectively with carriers and internal departments to resolve any shipping issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Familiarity with shipping regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Understanding of the importance of safety and proper use of PPE.
- Basic knowledge of lifting and material handling techniques.
- Good problem-solving and communication abilities.
