We are seeking a diligent and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Material Handler, you will be a crucial part of our logistics operations, ensuring the efficient movement and organization of goods within the warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving, processing, and distributing materials. You will operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move inventory. A strong emphasis on safety and adherence to all company policies and procedures is paramount. This role requires physical stamina and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment. We provide comprehensive training on all equipment and safety protocols. You will be expected to wear provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while on the warehouse floor, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds will be necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to grow within the logistics industry. Daily tasks may include loading and unloading trucks, verifying shipment contents against packing slips, and staging materials for outgoing shipments. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of all materials.
- Receive, identify, and store incoming inventory.
- Pick and stage materials for outgoing shipments.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus. Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
