Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Detroit, Michigan? Our busy warehouse is seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials efficiently and safely. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our facility, contributing to timely order fulfillment and inventory accuracy. We emphasize a strong safety culture, and all team members are expected to adhere strictly to safety protocols and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This is a physically demanding role that requires excellent coordination and a commitment to operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers with precision and care, ensuring the security of all cargo.
- Organize and stack materials in designated areas, maintaining efficient use of warehouse space.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and assist with maintaining accurate stock records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate effectively with other warehouse staff and supervisors to achieve production targets.
- Follow all handling procedures to prevent damage to products and ensure quality.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented attitude.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating forklifts in an industrial or warehouse setting.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Familiarity with different types of forklifts and their operational capabilities.
- Solid understanding of warehouse logistics and material handling best practices.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
