About
We are hiring an Order Picker for our busy warehouse located in Des Moines, Iowa. As an Order Picker, you will be a critical link in our supply chain, responsible for accurately fulfilling customer orders. Your day-to-day tasks will involve locating, retrieving, and preparing items for shipment, ensuring that every order is complete and correct. This role demands precision, speed, and a strong adherence to safety protocols. You will be working in a dynamic environment, requiring physical stamina and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and interpret pick lists or use handheld scanners to locate warehouse items.
- Retrieve the correct items and quantities from storage locations.
- Verify product information and condition before and after picking.
- Package items securely for safe transit, adhering to specific packing guidelines.
- Stage picked orders for consolidation, shipping, or further processing.
- Maintain an orderly and clean workspace, ensuring clear pathways and adherence to safety standards.
- Participate in inventory management activities, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
- Strictly follow all safety procedures, including the proper wear and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and meet daily order fulfillment targets.
- Report any issues with inventory, equipment, or safety to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in order picking or warehouse operations is highly desirable.
- Capability to handle moderate Lifting and repetitive motions.
- Basic understanding of inventory control and warehouse management systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of and commitment to safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Must be reliable and have a consistent attendance record.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to efficient logistics and warehouse operations.
