About
We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of materials within our warehouse. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods using forklifts and other equipment, and organizing inventory. This position is essential for maintaining the flow of our logistics operations. We place a high priority on safety and expect all employees to strictly adhere to safety procedures and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and experience operating material handling equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Organize and maintain inventory in a systematic manner.
- Assist with receiving and put-away processes.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Support overall logistics by ensuring timely movement of materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role is required.
- Valid forklift certification is highly preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Strong understanding of material handling equipment and safety procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Willingness to wear all necessary PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- Familiarity with warehouse logistics is a plus.
