Join our team as an Inventory Control Specialist in Washington, D.C., where you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. This position is essential for the efficiency of our logistics operations, ensuring that we have the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time. You will be responsible for conducting regular inventory audits, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future issues. Your keen eye for detail and analytical skills will be crucial in optimizing stock levels and minimizing losses due to damage or obsolescence. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential problems and developing solutions. You will work closely with warehouse staff, purchasing, and sales departments to ensure seamless operations. A strong understanding of inventory management systems and best practices is necessary. Safety is a top priority, and you will be expected to promote and enforce safe working habits, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ability to work independently and as part of a team is important. This role involves some physical activity, including walking the warehouse floor and occasional lifting, as well as data entry and analysis. Responsibilities:
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Coordinate with other departments on inventory-related matters.
- Assist with the management of stock rotation and aging inventory.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking and occasional Lifting.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to PPE guidelines.
