About

ATSS has a client in Calvert, AL looking for an (SPL) Operations Process Engineer DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? The ideal candidate will participate as a member of the Project Team as the Operations Process Engineer for the Slitting and Packaging Line. This candidate will join a project team launching the 600,000+ square foot facility, participate in design reviews, assess equipment quality, assist with the development of commissioning plans, and transition to a critical member of the Operating Team. As a member of the Operating Team, the ideal candidate will develop and maintain effective technology, lead projects to optimize process and product capabilities, and improve quality, productivity, and cost (yield) within the RCM area of the Mill. The Basics: Bachelor’s degree in engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Materials Sufficient experience with flat rolled steel processes Knowledge of steel strip properties and applications Demonstrated problem solving acumen Demonstrated understanding of control systems and instrumentation The Extras: Strong Teamwork and a hands-on working approach. Advanced skills in data analysis, Statistics (design of experiments, data analysis and model formulation). Leadership (leading group problem solving and influencing peer groups in a positive way). TRAITS TO BE SUCCESSFUL Strong work ethic that enables working through obstacles that are common in a green field project Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to develop technical presentations and competently communicate interpersonally and technical papers Competency in handling fast-paced environment, strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, and prioritizing proficiency Demonstrates high degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Developing and maintaining an effective technical team responsible for slitting and packaging our product Leading major improvement projects; improving process and product capabilities, throughput, cost (yield), energy and environmental performance Providing technical support for all slitting and packaging team members, reporting process performance to senior management, and managing/improving statistical systems that define product/process capabilities Developing/improving inspection and testing methods, driving functionality and performance of process models/control systems Demonstrate the company values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability Fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment Fulfill the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment Demonstrate commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect Ensure working knowledge of competencies as defined in ISO 14001 (current version), IATF 16949 (current version), and ISO 17025 (current version) YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT Office and Industrial setting Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
