Job Summary :  

T he We ll star Diagnostic Float Team   (W EST   T eam )   supports a variety of imaging services across our facilities.  Region Four includes Columbia County Medical Center & MCG Health Medical Center .  

As a  Radiologic   Technologist for Region Four, you   will   apply your expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at each location you serve.   If you prefer a role that avoids routine, lets you use your full skill set, and provides straightforward pay,  this could be a strong fit .  

Pay :  

In return for stepping in  where you’re needed most , Float Pool members earn a higher base rate  and  may be eligible for a   float incentive.  

Schedule & Incentives :  

Float Pool  technologists   have clarity and choice:  

  • This full-time position offer s   a $20,000 sign-on bonus  

  • Multiple shift options available   to  se lf-schedule up to 8 weeks in advance  

  • Monthly schedule includes 2 Monday shifts, 2 Friday shifts, and 3 weekend shifts (Sat/Sun)  

  • This position is e ligible for   f ull-time benefits  

Required Qualifications :  

  • Education  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent  

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program  

  • Experience  

  • Minimum  2   years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting  

  • Certifications  

  • ARRT-R (Radiography)  

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association  

Core   Responsibilities :  

  • Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and competently, adjusting technique to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).  

  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly.  

  • Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.  

  • Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.  

  • Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit.  

  • Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.  

  • Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.  

  • Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.  

  • Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed).  

  • Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain/restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required.  

  • Organize daily workflow to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow.  

  • Support operations and compliance ,  keep areas orderly   and stocked , transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and escalate issues to the supervisor.
