You will join the CAMM Family Systems Design team working within the Systems Software and Performance team. This team is responsible for the coordination and delivery of munition software updates and spiral development programmes, as well as the planning and conduct of technical studies into missile performance, using complex mathematical models, to help the project understand key system design choices or to estimate key performance indicators such as range and terminal accuracy, among others. The team works on the full systems lifecycle of these programmes, from the requirements, architecture, proving strategies and generation of evidence in support of certification.
A key responsibility of the team is coordination of the functional strand domain, coordinating teams including: Seekers, Guidance, Control and Navigation, Simulation and Modelling, Lethality, Software and Hardware in the Loop, to deliver software spiral programmes to improve munition robustness and performance. We also work with the three weapon systems teams that use CAMM as their munition, and with international colleagues in MBDA Italy on the CAMM-ER programme. Engagement with the MoD and their external agencies, as well as military personnel using the CAMM family and export customers is also a responsibility for the team. A significant upcoming task for the team is to re-design the software and firmware within the CAMM and CAMM-ER munitions to embody new functionality, updated security features and work across a new hardware platform.
The team delivers these activities for CAMM and CAMM-ER across the multitude of variants and programmes under development (Spirals, Obsolescence phase 1, Obsolescence phase 2, German Content Removal Programme, Italy and Poland Transfer of Technology (ToT) etc).
The role is to conduct these engineering activities for CAMM family products, and there is the opportunity to take a role leading the tasks for a particular contract for the right candidate. The team is relatively small so there is huge scope to shape and grow whilst developing your own technical knowledge and competencies as you progress within MBDA.

This can include: Requirements elicitation and management System architecture design, justification and traceability Interface Definitions Proving Strategies and Plans Performance modelling Conduct of Design Reviews Coordination of multiple stakeholders to deliver software products that are fit for purpose. What we're looking for from you: Systems engineering experience at multiple phases of the lifecycle such as requirements, system architecture, verification and certification. Systems engineering experience in system performance and the functional chain domain would be beneficial. Possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills and the capability to write clear, concise engineering documentation. Good verbal communication, listening and time management skills. A desire to develop and grow your systems engineering skills, and to improve the systems engineering methods used within the team.
