If you are a Licensed Practical Nurse who loves the rural lifestyle and enjoys working in a fast paced Emergency Room environment, then this position in Brooks might be just for you Brooks Emergency Department is a 10 bed unit with 24/7 physician support, serving the diverse population of Brooks and surrounding area. As a LPN, you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients and families, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and families. The LPN provides safe and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and nursing care standards. Working within the full scope of practice, the LPN observes, monitors, reports, and documents changes in the patients physical, mental, and emotional state and assists the patient with activities of daily living. The LPN is responsible to collaborate as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team, delivering consistent quality care to meet the needs of the patient. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous emergency experience preferred. CTAS. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. At least 2 years acute care or ER nursing experience preferred.
