Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee daily operations at our federally licensed meat processing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the production of sausage products including sujuk, salami, pepperoni, bologna, , while ensuring full compliance with Canadian Food Inspection Agency requirements and the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR).
The Production Manager will lead production staff, ensure food safety compliance, optimize yields, control costs, and maintain product quality standards.
Duties
- Plan, schedule, and oversee daily production activities.
- Monitor drying parameters (humidity, temperature), and cooking processes.
- Ensure consistent product quality, yield optimization, and minimal waste.
- Oversee proper operation of grinders, mixers, stuffers, smokehouses, and drying rooms.
- Coordinate maintenance and equipment servicing.
Skills
- Proven of minimum 4-5 years of experience in a licensed meat processing facility
- Knowledge of pH control, water activity, starter cultures.
- Experience with smokehouse programming and cooking cycles.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong organizational skills for managing inventory, documentation, and workflow schedules
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
