About
The Line Cook / Prep Cook plays a key role in delivering the consistent, quality comfort food Mom's is known for. This position supports daily kitchen operations through food preparation, line execution, cleanliness, and teamwork. You'll work closely with the Kitchen Manager and kitchen team to ensure every plate meets our standards for taste, presentation, and timing.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work, values consistency, and understands that great food starts with strong preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Line Execution
- Prepare ingredients, sauces, and components according to Mom's recipes and standards
- Execute menu items accurately and efficiently during service
- Maintain consistent portioning and presentation
- Follow all prep lists and production plans provided by the Kitchen Manager
- Support breakfast, lunch, and dinner service as scheduled
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation at all times
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature control procedures
- Properly label, date, rotate, and store all food products
- Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries
- Minimize waste and report shortages or quality issues
Teamwork & Professionalism
- Communicate clearly with BOH and FOH team members
- Support fellow cooks during busy periods
- Accept coaching and feedback professionally
- Contribute to a respectful, positive kitchen environment
- Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to work for scheduled shifts

Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred (training provided)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English is required

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.60-$19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
