Overview

Leon's is currently looking for an IT Systems Administrator to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure that supports our organization.

This role involves actively monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems.

The IT Systems Administrator will leverage proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve issues, maximizing the benefits of our IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and associated processes; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Design and deploy new systems, applications and/or enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems
  • Conduct research on software and systems products as required
  • Collaborate with the other IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes
  • Resolving Hosted services issues and taking ownership of cross-functional problems, ensuring compliance with SLA's
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records
  • Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problem occurrences
  • Manage network servers, appliances, and technology tools.
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
  • Ensure security through appropriate access controls, backups, and firewalls
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of multiple projects.

Requirements:

  • Active Directory (Site Topology, DNS, AD Design Skills) Consolidation of Active Directory Forests and domains
  • Windows Infrastructure and Domain Administration: DNS, DHCP, Account Management, Group Policy
  • VMware VCenter & ESXi (UCS experience is also considered an asset)
  • AIX 7+, Windows Server 2012 and above, RHEL, Oracle Linux 9
  • SQL Server, Active Directory, ADaudit, BIND, CUPS,
  • Load Balancer solutions ie. F5, Azure Load Balancer
  • Cloud services such as Azure, IBM Cloud
  • Storage solutions such as NetApp, IBM Storewize
  • Scripting (powershell, bash, ksh, etc)

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good project management skills
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Working Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of this role, the job requires regular on-site attendance at our Toronto Home Office.
  • On-call duties to support in emergency situations

Compensation:

$60,000/yr to $70,000/yr plus (income may vary based on volume and location)
