About
We are actively looking for a *Technical Project Manager (TPM)* to lead the development of new capabilities and features across cutting-edge autonomous systems and robotics platforms. This role is not a traditional programmatic scheduler or process coordinator. Instead, it is a deeply technical, product-focused leadership position responsible for bringing new functionality to life for real users in demanding operational environments.
*Key Responsibilities*
Successful candidates will pair a strong product sense with the ability to dive into the technical weeds alongside engineers, owning outcomes and driving fast, iterative development. This role must be comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams, identifying issues before others see them, and ensuring that what we deliver is not only technically correct but also truly the right product.
This role requires high ownership, comfort in ambiguity, willingness to get hands-on, and a drive to ensure the work is correct, complete, and of exceptional quality. You will also:
* Lead development projects from concept through operational delivery, ensuring the resulting capability is both technically sound and high-quality from a user/product perspective.
* Translate high-level intent into concrete development objectives, milestones, and test plans.
* Leads through technical understanding-not Gantt charts.
* Work closely with product management to ensure alignment on problem definition and desired outcomes.
* Engage directly with engineering teams (software, systems, hardware) to understand implementation details.
* Identify bugs, edge cases, and undesired behaviors during bench, sim, and flight tests.
* Participate in and often lead flight tests, actively evaluating behavior, performance, and safety.
* Coordinate and direct fast paced test-fix-test cycles, ensuring focus, technical rigor, and forward momentum.
* Track and prioritize many technical details simultaneously to keep teams on schedule and on quality.
* Push for closure on complex issues that solve customer requirements.
* Proactively unblock engineering teams by clarifying requirements, resolving dependencies, and making crisp decisions.
* Provide clear communication to stakeholders on status, risks, and critical technical insights.
* Ability to own an end-to-end development effort.
* Maintain strong alignment with systems engineering while ensuring process does not overshadow product outcomes.
* Ensure new functionality meets real operational needs, not just requirements on paper.
* Adopt a customer/mission-oriented perspective when evaluating development work.
* Champion usability, robustness, reliability, and readiness for mission deployment.
*Required Qualifications*
* 5+ years experience in an Engineering field
* 2+ years experience in Program/Project Management
* Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, robotics, systems, computer engineering, etc.) or equivalent hands-on experience.
* Experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts or technical projects with real-world delivery.
* Hands-on, detail-oriented, and willing to dive deep into system behavior.
* Thrives in environments with high accountability, technical intensity, and continuous iteration.
* Passion for robotics, aviation, autonomy, drones, or similar fields.
* U.S. citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Familiarity with system integration, verification & validation, test infrastructure, or simulation tools.
* Prior experience as a product manager, technical lead, or similar role.
* Solid understanding of robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace platforms, embedded systems, or similar complex technical domains.
* Ability to read technical documentation, interpret logs, evaluate system behavior, and understand failure modes.
