As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and analyzing complex steel structures that support submarine builds. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring safety and compliance while pushing the boundaries of engineering excellence.

• Design and analyze complex steel structures using Eurocodes, British Standards, and BAE standards, employing FEA and classical calculation methods.
• Apply your knowledge of regulations, including LOLER, Codes of Compliance, and Weld Specifications.
• Utilize computer-based analytical techniques, including finite element analysis and CAD modeling (Abaqus, S-Frame).
• Support the manufacturing, assembly, lifting, handling, and installation processes of submarine structures.
• Produce concept drawings and technical outputs that align with contractual requirements, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
• Check and approve calculations to maintain the highest standards of quality.

Essential:

• BEng/MEng in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status, or nearing CEng status.
• Expertise in structural steel analysis and design.
• Fully conversant with Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Competent in reviewing and checking design outputs.
• Strong background in mechanical engineering and knowledge of lifting handling and LOLER.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with ABAQUS, S-Frame, NX, MathCAD, and Excel.
• Experience in a production or marine production environment.
