About
We are seeking experienced Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialists with hands-on experience in Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications, including Case Management and Curam, to join our team. This is a full-time, onsite role focused on delivering high-quality QA and testing for large-scale systems, including child welfare and social service solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, scripts, and cases for functional, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) of COTS applications.
Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, stakeholders, project teams, and IT leads to understand system requirements, workflows, and define clear user stories.
Perform manual and automated testing, logging defects, tracking resolutions, and maintaining test documentation in Azure DevOps.
Analyze defects, perform root cause analysis, and troubleshoot system issues to ensure high-quality and reliable releases.
Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), coordinating with business users and providing clear progress reporting.
Coach and mentor junior QA team members on COTS best practices, automated testing, and QA methodology.
Ensure compliance with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven QA and testing experience with COTS applications, specifically Curam or Case Management systems.
Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies, ITIL change/release management processes, and relational databases with SQL or similar query languages.
Hands-on experience in test planning, test strategy creation, and documentation of test results.
Experience using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools for test execution and defect management.
Solid understanding of functional, integration, performance, and UAT testing for enterprise systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in collaborative Agile environments.
Desirable Skills
Experience with automated test scripts and working with front-end, web-based, and data-mining/reporting COTS tools.
Knowledge of programming languages, object-oriented testing, or workflow automation.
Exposure to child welfare, social services, or government system testing.
