What You'll Do
As a Deployment Engineer at Maneva, you'll be responsible for bringing Maneva's AI-powered vision systems to life in real-world manufacturing environments. You will lead and execute on-site deployments, working directly with customer hardware, production lines, and operations teams to ensure systems are installed, calibrated, validated, and production-ready.
This role is highly hands-on and customer-facing. You will travel to manufacturing sites, interface directly with hardware, software deployment, and controls, troubleshoot issues in live environments, and ensure smooth handoff from development to production. You'll also support data collection efforts required to train and improve vision models, acting as the key bridge between Maneva's internal engineering teams and customer operations.
Travel: Up to 50% across Canada and the United States
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Execute and support on-site deployment of AI vision systems at customer facilities
Install, configure, calibrate, and validate cameras, lighting, compute, and I/O hardware
Interface directly with industrial equipment, sensors, and control systems during deployment
Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and integration issues in live production environments
Ensure successful handoff from development to production, including documentation and operator readiness
Coordinate and support data collection efforts in customer environments when required
Communicate regularly with customers and internal teams on deployment status, issues, and feedback
Work closely with software, ML, and operations teams to resolve field issues and improve deployability
Document deployment configurations, learnings, and best practices for internal and customer use
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
Degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on industry experience
Prior experience in field deployment, commissioning, or system integration in industrial environments
Hands-on experience working with hardware installation, calibration, and troubleshooting
Ability to work independently onsite and manage deployments in customer facilities
Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort operating in live production environments
Excellent communication skills with customers and cross-functional internal teams
Comfortability with software development in Linux using Python, Docker, Git, operating on edge devices (i.e. Jetson series)
Must be willing to travel to customer sites in Canada and the United States as needed
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with machine vision systems, cameras, lighting, and optics
Experience in image processing, video streaming, and/or real-time AI inference pipeline
Experience with industrial camera and image transport protocols (e.g. GenICam)
Experience with PLC integration (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet) and control systems
Experience with networking
Experience with IoT deployment and fleet management
Exposure to AI/ML workflows and working with data curation and annotated datasets
Experience in food & beverage, CPG, automotive, or packaging environments
Experience in startup environments or cross-functional hardware/software product teams
