Laurentian Bank is undergoing a transformation and we need reinforcements. Within the Laurentian Bank securitization team, proudly established within the corporate treasury group, we finance over 30% of the Bank's activities, and this role is set to grow.
We are looking for someone who thinks big, pays close attention to detail, and is able to manage tight deliverables. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, high-performing team where communication, initiative and teamwork are key to achieving our goals.
The position holder will actively contribute as a strategic partner within Corporate Treasury and will interact directly with multiple internal and external counterparties. The Senior Analyst will actively participate in operations and help guide team decisions to optimize the various programs under the team's responsibility.
Responsibilities
Assists the AVP on the management and execution of existing securitization program such as the NHA Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) program, the CMB program and other ABS program.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency of our securitization programs and minimize operational risk
Assists in the recommendation and execution of securitization transactions that contribute to the Bank's funding strategy.
Responsible for the development of pricing and risk models related to securitization.
Responsible for monitoring the market environment and the regulatory framework to ensure the Bank comply to all applicable rules and guidelines.
Assists in the planning, forecasting and analysis of securitization balance sheet and P&L in conjunction with Finance Group.
Review transaction pricing and monitor monthly performance
Identify new securitization opportunities and support the AVP securitization to implement new conduits.
Represent the Bank in industry forums, and with auditors and regulators
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years' experience in securitization within a financial institution, a bank treasury, or mortgage underwriter
University degree in a relevant field (Finance, Economics, Accounting, etc.).
Professional designations (CFA, FRM, etc.) are assets.
Knowledge of the NHA MBS, CMB and other ABS programs
Knowledge of securitization processes, familiarity with secured funding structures and legal documentation
Excellent communication skills - strong oral and written English and French*
Strong Excel skills, including ability to design macros, and use VBA. Knowledge of mortgageHub (TAO) is an asset.
Motivated, self-driven individual that works well in a team
Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
