Your New RoleJoin our Contribution Engineering team, where you’ll play a vital role in designing and installing contribution technology across the EMEA region. This team is responsible for ensuring seamless contribution across WBD, supporting both everyday operations and major live sporting events.
Your primary mission? To build and maintain the contribution platforms that deliver TNT Sports & Eurosport’s expanding portfolio of sports rights. This role requires strategic thinking, determination, and a passion for championing new technologies and workflows.
As a Broadcast Contribution Engineer , you will collaborate closely with production and sports technology teams, influencing technology choices and workflow designs for major events like the Grand Slam and Olympics.
This is a hybrid role , allowing you to work up to 3 days a week in our Chiswick Park, London office, with travel to major events and the Olympics expected.
Your Role Accountabilities- Design and implement contribution compression systems for TNT Sports/Eurosport, both in the field and at WBD locations across EMEA.
- Liaise with Sports Technology, Production, and Operations teams to deliver future projects and services.
- Champion innovative contribution technology across the business.
- Manage third-party suppliers, ensuring clear requirements, adherence to SLAs, and risk mitigation.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies to enhance our broadcast capabilities.
- Provide expert technical support, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
- Degree-level education or relevant experience in a broadcast environment.
- Knowledge of current compression standards and broadcast video signal chains.
- Self-motivated with the ability to advance projects independently.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly.
- Willingness to travel for major events and adapt to the fast-paced nature of sports broadcasting.
- Familiarity with JPEG 2000/XS, H264/HEVC, and NDI.
- Knowledge of SMPTE 2022-7, 2110, NMOS, and SDN.
- Experience with UHD, HDR, and Dolby Atmos formats.
- Previous experience in remote production and deploying systems in AWS and GCP.
- Experience with LTE contribution and internet contribution (SRT/RIST/ZIXI).
- Background in MCR operations and engineering.
