Seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for our busy Chicago, Illinois warehouse! This role is essential for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our logistics facility. You will operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to transport, load, and unload goods. Maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety protocols is of the utmost importance. We provide comprehensive training on safety procedures and mandate the use of appropriate PPE. This position requires proficiency in forklift operation, excellent spatial awareness, and the ability to handle moderate lifting. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, stack, and load materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to shipping areas.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist with receiving and put-away of inventory as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety regulations, traffic rules, and procedures within the warehouse.
- Utilize proper lifting techniques when necessary and assist with manual handling.
- Wear all required PPE, including safety shoes, vests, and eye protection.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and safety-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
