Seeking a reliable and efficient Order Picker for our busy distribution center in Boston, Massachusetts. As an Order Picker, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the right products are picked accurately and efficiently to fulfill customer orders. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are key to success in this role. You will utilize scanning technology to locate and retrieve items from various locations within the warehouse. This position requires physical stamina, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining high productivity standards. We are dedicated to fostering a safe working environment, and expect all employees to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and follow all safety guidelines. This role is integral to our logistics operations and directly impacts customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order tickets or electronic scanning devices.
- Verify product codes and quantities to ensure order accuracy.
- Transport picked items to the packing or shipping area using appropriate equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Report any discrepancies or stock issues to a supervisor immediately.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper Lifting techniques.
- Adhere to designated productivity standards.
- Contribute to the smooth functioning of our logistics department.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capable of frequently Lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of basic inventory principles is a plus.
