We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our bustling warehouse in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This position is integral to our logistics and material handling operations, ensuring efficient movement of goods within the warehouse. You will play a key part in loading and unloading trucks, transferring inventory, and maintaining accurate stock placement. Safety is paramount, and you must demonstrate a thorough understanding and consistent application of all Safety procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE. The ideal candidate will be experienced, reliable, and possess a strong work ethic. This role requires proficiency in operating various types of forklifts and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Previous experience with significant Lifting and manual handling is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move pallets and materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers with incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport raw materials to production areas and finished goods to shipping areas.
- Accurately stack and store inventory in designated locations.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as directed.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support overall logistics efficiency through timely and accurate material handling.
- Handle tasks involving significant Lifting and movement of goods, both with and without forklift assistance.
Qualifications:
Valid Forklift Operator certification is required. Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment. Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. Must be able to perform physical tasks, including Lifting up to 70 pounds. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in placement and counting. Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills. Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic. Experience with material handling equipment is essential.
