We are seeking an efficient Order Picker to join our dedicated team at our large-scale logistics hub in New York City, New York. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently retrieving items from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. This role is fundamental to our operations, ensuring that our customers receive their orders correctly and on time. You will utilize scanning devices and follow specific pick lists to locate and gather products. A keen eye for detail, speed, and accuracy are essential. We emphasize a safe working environment, and all team members are required to strictly adhere to safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse storage locations according to order specifications.
- Use RF scanners or other handheld devices to track picked items.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Transport picked items to the packing or staging area.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Follow proper lifting techniques and material handling guidelines.
- Report any discrepancies or issues with inventory or orders.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed to support logistics operations.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a warehouse environment is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and product labels.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with physical demands, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
