Serving as a Border Patrol Agent , you will play a critical role in safeguarding our nation's borders and ensuring the security of its citizens.

• Patrolling international boundaries, detecting and preventing illegal activities such as human smuggling and drug trafficking.


• Inspecting documents and conducting interviews to determine citizenship or visa status.


• Maintaining surveillance from covert positions to track individuals suspected of violating immigration laws.

• A minimum one year of specialized experience performing law enforcement duties related to border control or homeland security is required for the GL-9 grade level position. For GS-11 positions, candidates must have at least two years' experience working with state, federal, or military agencies enforcing state/federal/immigration laws making arrests dealing effectively w/law enforc matters analyzing data rapidly developing/training/troubleshooting interpersonal skills speaking reading understanding Spanish/English communication with public representatives.
